What Is WisMesh TAP V2?

The WisMesh TAP V2 is an outdoor Meshtastic communicator and a fully standalone SX1262 LoRa mesh communicator that allows users to send and receive messages directly over a mesh network without connecting a phone. It is the successor to the WisMesh TAP, using the RAK3312 WisBlock Core module instead of the RAK4631. This makes it a modern ESP32-S3 Meshtastic client developed on the proven WisBlock platform. The WisMesh TAP V2 is a Meshtastic touchscreen device designed for users who want a fully standalone, phone-free, and outdoor-ready communicator.

Built on the Espressif ESP32-S3 MCU and featuring a Semtech SX1262 transceiver module for LoRa connectivity, the device uses the industry-standard SX1262 transceiver module based on LoRa technology. It supports the latest Meshtastic User Interface (MUI) for a more interactive experience. It includes a TFT touch screen, an on-screen keyboard, and an SD card slot to store and display maps within the MUI. New messages are announced through an integrated buzzer, and users can also send preset (“canned”) messages, which can be configured via BLE using the Meshtastic mobile app. The built-in GNSS location module and 3-axis motion sensor provide accurate positioning and movement data across the network, making it a reliable Meshtastic device with GPS.

Designed for field and outdoor environments, the Meshtastic TAP V2 carries an IP65 rating and runs on a 3200mAh battery for long operation between charges. Setup is simple and can be configured over BLE with the Meshtastic mobile app or via USB using the Meshtastic WebUI.
