A LoRaWAN sensor on its own only produces numbers. A temperature reading, a door that opened, a GPS position: none of it helps until someone can see it, get alerted, and act on it. That is the job of the software side. This article covers the LoRaWAN sensors and trackers we sell at Hexaspot, and how they pair with Trackpac, an IoT sensor management platform that turns the data into maps, dashboards and alerts.
Note that this is about LoRaWAN, not Meshtastic. LoRaWAN devices report to gateways and a network server, and platforms like Trackpac present the result. Meshtastic devices form their own mesh without any of that.
How the pieces fit together
A LoRaWAN setup has four parts:
- Sensors and trackers: battery-powered devices that measure something and send small messages over long range.
- Gateways: receivers that pick up those messages and forward them to the internet. According to Trackpac, its network has roaming agreements with the Helium Network and other public LoRaWAN networks, so coverage may already exist at your site. For guaranteed coverage indoors or in dense areas, Trackpac recommends your own gateways.
- A network server: handles the LoRaWAN protocol.
- A platform: this is where Trackpac sits. It shows live data, draws maps, applies rules and sends notifications by email, SMS or push, and offers an API and webhooks for connecting other systems.
Hexaspot supplies the hardware, including RAKwireless gateways and the sensors below. Trackpac provides the dashboard.
GPS and asset trackers
Digital Matter Yabby3 (€108,90). A rugged GPS tracker with a long-life battery, IP68 rating and adaptive tracking. Trackpac lists it as a supported device and describes it as ultra-rugged with a 10+ year battery life. Typical uses: equipment, trailers, containers and other assets that sit outdoors for long periods.
Digital Matter Oyster3 (€124,99). Also from Digital Matter, suited to tracking assets that move..
Browan Tabs Object Locator (€32,00). A small, portable key-fob style tracker for keeping track of smaller items over short periods.
On the Trackpac side, asset tracking includes real-time positions, movement history, geofences with alerts when an asset moves or leaves an area, and maps powered by Mapbox. See our asset tracking sensors.
Temperature and humidity sensors
- LHT65N (€41,50): temperature and humidity with a 2 m temperature probe, useful for coolers and freezers.
- LSN50v2-S31 (€69,00): waterproof temperature and humidity sensor for outdoor use.
- LSN50V2-D20 (€67,00): waterproof outdoor temperature sensor.
Browse them all in our temperature and humidity categories. Trackpac lists comparable Dragino and Browan temperature and humidity sensors, so ask which of these models are enabled for your account.
Water leak and door sensors
- LWL02 Water Leak Sensor (€21,99). Trackpac lists the Dragino LWL02 as a supported water leak sensor with an IP67 rating. Useful in server rooms, basements, under sinks and near boilers. See leak detection sensors.
- LDS03A Outdoor Door Sensor (€72,50). Trackpac lists the Dragino LDS03A for monitoring up to two doors or windows, with a waterproof and dustproof design. See door sensors.
Distance and soil sensors
- TEK 766 LoRa Ultrasonic (€199,00): level and distance measurement, for example tanks.
- Dragino SE01-LB Soil Sensor (€149,00): soil measurements for agriculture and research. See also distance detection sensors.
What you can do with the combination
- Cold chain and fridge monitoring: temperature sensors with alerts when a threshold is crossed.
- Water damage prevention: leak sensors that notify you by SMS or email before the damage spreads.
- Equipment and fleet tracking: Yabby3 trackers on trailers and machines, with geofence alerts if something leaves a site.
- Building and access monitoring: door sensors that show open and close events.
- Agriculture and environmental research: soil, temperature and level sensors feeding one dashboard.
- Schools, universities and municipalities: a single platform across many sensors, with a rules engine and API for projects and reporting. See our guide for institutions.
Getting started
- Check coverage. Look at the Helium coverage map for your site, or plan a gateway. Trackpac offers LoRaWAN consultancy for gateway placement.
- Choose your sensors from the list above and confirm support with Trackpac.
- Add them to Trackpac, set your rules, geofences and notification recipients.
- Scale up. Per-sensor pricing starts from £15 per year according to Trackpac, with volume discounts for larger deployments. Confirm current prices with Trackpac.

FAQ
What is Trackpac? Trackpac is an IoT sensor management platform for LoRaWAN devices. It provides dashboards, maps, geofencing, alerts and an API.
Does Trackpac sell the sensors? Hexaspot supplies the hardware listed in this article. Trackpac is the software platform and subscription.
Do I need my own gateway? Not always. Trackpac says its network has roaming agreements with the Helium Network and others, so you may already be covered. For reliable indoor or dense urban coverage, your own gateway is recommended.
Do Meshtastic devices work with Trackpac? No. Meshtastic devices create their own mesh network. Trackpac is for LoRaWAN devices. The SenseCAP T1000-E sold for Meshtastic is a different firmware setup from the LoRaWAN SenseCAP T1000 that Trackpac lists.
How long do the batteries last? It depends on reporting interval and conditions. Digital Matter states a very long battery life for the Yabby3. Always check the datasheet of the specific sensor.
Which sensors are confirmed to work? Trackpac lists the Digital Matter Yabby3, Dragino LWL02 and Dragino LDS03A, and a Browan object locator. Ask Trackpac before buying other models.
Can I get volume pricing? Yes, through the Request a Quote button on our product pages, and via Trackpac for platform subscriptions.
