Business Sales →Everything your organisation needs to start communicating off-grid, in one case. The Hexaspot Meshtastic Starter Kit gives a small team a complete, working mesh communication network: three handheld devices, a solar-powered repeater to extend coverage, tuned antennas, and a rugged IP67 case that protects it all and goes wherever your team goes.
Open the case, hand out the devices, place the repeater. Your team is connected in minutes, entirely independent of cellular networks, internet, and the power grid. No subscriptions, no SIM cards, no licences required.
Designed for municipalities, fire brigades, civil protection teams, event organisations, and any team that needs communication that keeps working when everything else fails.
What's in the Case
| Component | Qty | Role |
|---|---|---|
| WisMesh Pocket V2 | 3 | Handheld devices for individual team members. Display, GPS, and 3 to 5 day battery life per charge. |
| WisMesh Repeater Mini | 1 | Solar-powered relay node. Mounted at a central elevated position, it extends the range of every device on your network. Runs autonomously for years. |
| Pole mounting bracket | 1 | Stainless steel mounting kit for the Repeater Mini. Fits poles, masts, and railings. |
| Hexaspot Whip Antennas 868 MHz | 3 | Tuned upgrade antennas for the handhelds. Noticeably more range than stock antennas, flexible and field-proof. |
| Rugged IP67 case | 1 | Waterproof, dustproof transport case with custom foam inserts. Stows in a vehicle, survives the field, keeps everything organised and ready. |
| Pre-configuration | Included | All devices arrive charged, set to EU868, and configured on a shared private encrypted channel. Ready to use out of the case. |
Why Organisations Choose This Kit
- Working network out of the case. Every device is pre-configured on the same encrypted channel. There is no setup procedure, no IT involvement, and nothing to install on the devices themselves. Team members pair their phone via Bluetooth and start messaging.
- Solar repeater included. Most starter setups stop at handhelds. This kit includes the component that actually determines coverage: a solar-powered relay that extends range across your entire operating area, mounted in minutes with the included bracket.
- IP67 protection as standard. The case is waterproof and dustproof. Store it in a command vehicle, a fire station, or a storage room, and know that the kit is deployment-ready whenever it comes out.
- No recurring costs. No subscriptions, no SIM cards, no airtime fees, no licences. The 868 MHz band is licence-free across the EU, UK, and Norway. Buy once, use for years.
- Independent of infrastructure. The network formed by these devices needs no cell towers, no internet, and no mains power. It is precisely the communication channel that still works during power outages, network congestion, and disaster scenarios.
Deployment Scenarios
- Power outage response: when neighbourhoods lose power and mobile networks degrade, your team coordinates as normal. Handhelds run for days per charge, the repeater runs on solar indefinitely.
- Incident coordination: text messaging with GPS positions across a larger incident area, with a written record of all communication.
- Events and crowd management: reliable team communication at festivals and public events where cellular networks saturate.
- Field exercises: train your team on off-grid procedures before an actual emergency requires them.
- Vehicle standby kit: the case stows in any command or response vehicle as a guaranteed-available fallback channel.
How It Works in Practice
- Open the case and power on the three handhelds
- Team members pair their phones via Bluetooth with the free Meshtastic app (iOS and Android)
- Mount the Repeater Mini at a central elevated point using the included bracket, with its solar panel facing the sun
- Your team now has encrypted text messaging and live GPS positions across the coverage area
Typical range between handhelds is 1 to 5 kilometres depending on terrain. With the repeater mounted at an elevated position, effective coverage extends substantially further, and every message automatically hops via the repeater when needed. The system also relays through each handheld, so coverage grows as your team spreads out.
Scaling Up
This kit is the starting point, not the ceiling. The network scales to dozens or hundreds of devices on the same configuration. Add more handhelds for additional team members, more repeaters for wider coverage, or outdoor solar nodes for permanent infrastructure. Everything we sell operates on the same network.

Frequently Asked
Do we need a licence to use this? No. The 868 MHz band is licence-free across the EU, UK, and Norway. Anyone may operate these devices.
Can other people read our messages? No. Your kit ships configured on a private channel with AES-256 encryption. Only devices holding your channel key can read your traffic.
Do the devices need phones to work? The Pocket V2 has its own display and shows incoming messages directly. For composing messages, pairing with a phone via Bluetooth is the most practical option. No internet or cellular connection is needed at any point.
Can we add more devices later? Yes. Any Meshtastic-compatible device can join your channel. We can pre-configure additional units to match your kit before shipping.
