Fits directly between any N-type antenna (such as our McGill tuned 868 MHz antennas) and your LMR-400 coaxial cable. No adapters needed.

When Do You Need This?

If your antenna is mounted outdoors — on a roof, mast, or wall — a lightning arrestor is strongly recommended. Even a nearby lightning strike (not a direct hit) can induce a voltage spike through your coaxial cable that destroys your Meshtastic node, gateway, or LoRa radio instantly. The arrestor clamps these surges to a safe level.

Important: For effective protection, the arrestor must be properly grounded. Connect the ground terminal to a grounding rod or your building's grounding system using a short, thick copper wire (minimum 10 mm²). The arrestor alone without grounding provides no protection.

Typical Installation

Outdoor antenna → Lightning Arrestor → LMR-400 cable → your Meshtastic device (indoors)

Install the arrestor as close to the point where the cable enters the building as possible. This keeps the surge outside.
